For Aaron

Hello Handsome,
I miss you and I thankfully have not learned to patch the hole you left in my heart when we said goodbye in York. It is like the road construction crew that usually handles this kind of hurt has staked off that part and are still trying to figure out what to do with it. They can't fill it cause it's only going to be empty temporarily so they stand around scratching their heads trying to make it work. God is taking care of it though, He soothes the area every day and fills it with His amazing love in order to keep it from closing up and He holds that place for you so that you can move back in easily when we are back together again.
Every time we get together and talk i am excited to see how much He is changing us both, it is fantastic and the changes we will experience when we are together will be even more amazing. I love how my understanding of the Lord grows when we talk. He is using you in my life to show me new sides of Him I had yet to see before now.
That being said I am frustrated with talking over Skype. I want to be able to see you and feel you and know that you are close by just by being able to sense you, not because a ringer on my mac has alerted me that you are now online.
i miss you bub and i am actually counting down the days until you are here [42 on friday the 8th ;) ]
with all my love
your girlfriend slash sister in Christ

who i am?

the super cool shirt i made today

this is what i am going to be telling people in my communication class tomorrow. is this who i am? can i really be summed up this easily in a matter of a half an hour when i am only half awake? i know there is so much more to me but i really don't want to tell a bunch of strangers all about who i really am yet.

is this the Donna you know?

i don't think i even know this diet version of me

My life is just that, a living thing that is alive. It changes from season to season and it is growing into something quite beautiful. In a typical day I attend at least one class at Grossmont and then go to work at a ceramics studio type business. I am taking a 4 classes and a lab, so my work load for school is not too heavy and is easy for me to manage while still working part time. My job is some what satisfying, but I am seeking other employment. When I get home or between classes I talk to my boyfriend Aaron on Skype because he currently lives on the other side of the country and this is the cheapest way we can talk to each other.
I am truly passionate about God and my relationship with Him. I love reading the Bible and spending time studying the Word. I go to church on Sundays both morning and night, and I am a part of a couple of bible studies during the week. Also I just got back from England where I was attending a Bible college in York. It was a really cool semester that opened my eyes to so much. For instance, how others perceive you, and how we perceive others in foreign countries and cultures. I picked that part up during a mission trip in Portugal where we served a a church in the Algarve. I also met Aaron in during my stay in England, he was another student at the bible college. These past four months have really whetted my appetite for travel and I hope to be doing so again soon. Another thing I really enjoy is art. I was, up until this past semester, a ceramics major. That is my area of interest, and my favorite medium to work in. I have been doing it since high school so for about 6 years now.
My life is pretty cool in that I have many outlets for expressing myself and the opportunity to communicate with others is always there. I enjoy the give and take of talking to some one about something really deep and thought provoking and I seek it out in others, but I can easily keep it light and funny.
I often use the internet to talk to people who I care most about if they do not live near me, namely my boyfriend, but a few others as well. Other wise I see these people face to face and we talk using text messaging and calling each other. I prefer face to face though; it is easier for me to read some one, as it is for most people, when I can see their body language and their facial expressions.
For me the important elements in a healthy relationship are openness, reliability, realistic expectations, honest communication, investment of one’s self into the relationship and at least some common ground. And if we are talking about close relationships, a relationship with the Lord is a must.

it has come to my attention

A picture from Andres's going away party last sunday taken by Mi-shell edits by me

I do not post enough on here, and that is a conclusion of my own helped along by a few people( ahem Heather and Aaron) so here I am writing...... not too sure what I'll talk about..... ok I got it now

school
I have finished my first week of school, and it was good and not at all like I expected, but was still good. My classes are interesting to say the least, and it is nice taking a class with Pear. Thursday an old woman in my ceramics class and I started talking about what were were doing the semester before, and I told her about England and Aaron and just cool stuff the LORD has been showing me. She told me she was a christian and that she had prayed that God would send people for her to talk to and be nice to her in her classes and I was the 2nd girl she had meet that day that was a Christian. She said I was sent to her by God. Cool huh?

the book

my amazing new hat i made tonight

i know have kid about it for a while how heather should write a book, but we are now really going to do it. we are asking lauren if she would like to join us in this craziness but i'm not so sure how she will respond.
today was the first official day that we got started. we outlined what we want to mention in the book and will spend time fleshing out the rest one topic at a time.
i'm not sure who we are writing this book for, or even what the whole point of it s, but know that we need to do it. it could very well be that we need to organize what all we experienced while we were there, and it will be good for us to be able to look back and see just what he has shown us.
or it could be that this is how he wants us to open people's eyes to what he has for them, and what they are missing out on.
i don't think we will know until we get closer to the end.
jo said something interesting to me the other day after we had listened to a song she told me it made her sad because she felt like she was missing out on something. how i wanted to show her that what she is missing is that relationship with God, maybe this book could help her too... i don't know but i will keep praying for her and trying to be the best example i can.
on another topic i talked to aaron tonight about waiting till we graduated for School until we got married because i felt that the beginning of 09 was too soon. he agreed a lil shocked at first, but agreed.. so know we don't have a clue as to when but, it is off in the distant future.

so prayer for all the above would be good, what do you need prayer for?

me all sideways and stoked wearing the jelly fish hat from tif tif

so i haven't really written anything since i got home but life has been interesting since the last post.
i am running hard after god and i feel like i am actually getting some where this time. the stuff he has crammed into my brian the past four months is coming out of the deepest darkest parts of my mind that i had no idea had been filled with stuff. i feel like my brain is the old card filing system in libraries, there are so many little cards in all those little drawers that when you open one up, there are so many different ideas and lessons sitting inside just waiting for the moment when some one is looking for that specific one. and it's not like i know which ones i will be pulling out at any given minute they just fly into my mouth like those balls pop up for the lotto into the lady's hand. she has no control over which number comes up, but she holds out her hand with confidence knowing that a number will be there for her to read aloud. i have lately been thinking about the gifts god has given me and how he calls me to use them everyday to strengthen the body of christ. i at times can be ungrateful for what he has given me and i am sorry. i am beginning to see how exciting it is that god is using me and i am more willing now to let him work through me even more.

i will write more, but it's late and i am tired. god is showing me cool stuff and i am trying to write it down so i can share it with others better. ask me about it next time you see me

home again

so here i am up at 5:30 before the sun is even up for the 3rd day in a row. why you may ask.
1) i'm still sick so i'm sleeping a ton
2) i'm still jetlaged so my time clock is all off,
3) 1 + 2= wierd sleeping schedule for the bear.

it's so nice to be home, to sleep in my bed and to smell the smells of my home. to eat amazing food made by my momma, to see my friends from church, to hear my pastor speak, to snuggle with my momma and to catching my dad looking at me like he has never seen me before looking so grown up. i love having jo come in my room and filling me in with the high school drama and being able to just nod and understand and not try to fix it like parents do. i love seeing my dogs even though mine has tripled in size and Xena is quickly shrinking.

but i miss my room mates, i miss going down stairs to find amee and erin. i miss the vomit room with the many brain vomits held there weekly. i miss crazy dance parties to music too weird to admit we like, and boy band fest where we would just belt them out un ashamed. i miss tiffany and her whining and the magic appron. i miss hannah and her "not liking mike" talks. i miss the truly edifying talks in my room with helen and brit. i miss reading song of solomon with helena and her amazing intrpretations with canada blushing the whole time. tea parties to avoid homewrok with heather in their flat and hanging out with ramzy and isaac. i even miss chris and his out there ways.

but most of all i miss Aaron and his touch. i miss holding his hand and falling asleep on him in the garage. i miss praying with him and talking about the bible. telling him something cool i learned and asking him if he knew it yet. ( he did the guy was in his 4 semseter he was already taught it) i miss him waithing for me before church so we could walk together at exactly 10:23 and i miss comming downstiars cause some girl ran up telling me that my man was at the back door waiting for me again. i miss sitting next to him during worship hearing his beautiful voice knowing he will know every word to this song. and i miss him singing to me as we walked down the street. i even miss when he would grab me and not let go untill he was done singing his made up songs about how much he loves me.

i'm glad i'm home don't get me wrong, but there is so much i wish i could have brought back here with me.

know that these lists do not fully express themselves, there is more to each one that would take me for ever to write.
