Life Update

So our plans for this summer have changed, only in that we are staying right where we are. We had applied for a summer internship in Florida at a calvary. It was a crazy long shot and there were a few doors that needed to be opened for us to be able to move out there for the summer. We we received and email letting us know the church could not support us and two other interns at this time, but we were encouraged to apply at another time. So it wasn't in His plan and we're staying here.
I think the hardest part about applying for different things like this is the waiting to know one way or another. I mean sure you would love for the answer to be yes, but because we know God is good either response will work out. But the waiting leaves you in a limbo where you feel like you can't make decisions. You feel like you just stepped off a roller coaster and have yet to regain balance and all you can think about is the uncertainty.
It's important in these times to cast out fear with perfect love because fear involves torment. we have been saved from this back and forth agony of our hearts. Every time we go through a moment like this it is getting to be like second nature to fall at the feet of the Lord and know He will provide if it is prudent. So we aren't going to be leaving this area as far as we know now, but the lesson is still just as valuable as a summer away.

So on the job front both of us having a job has made life more interesting and is sharpening our time management skills all the more. Having my beautiful bike, Sally, has made it easier for us to both be able to get to work with out crazy long walks or waiting for the other person to get off.
This summer I am switching to Special Ops which sounds way cooler than it is :) I will start work at 5am and work generally until 1:30ish it will be nice to have a more consistent schedule and getting up that early is only a matter of getting used to it.
Aaron is hoping to cross train more in the store so he can get more hours and maybe even move out of the food section all together.

Other than that we are still baby free {yes!}, almost at our one year anniversary {woo hoo!!}, and excited to see what this summer's ministry will look like at Morningstar.

I love you guys and miss you dearly hopefully with this schedule change we will be able to see you guys more often.

Candles Huuh What Are They Good For.....

I think some of our best talks happen when we are waiting to fall asleep, or just after we wake up and we are just laying around in bed. They often are silly and include some of our classic made up songs having to do with nothing in particular.
This morning I was telling Aaron how I was considering buying some candles that are on sale at Target

A: "I think candles are a waste of money."
D: "Why?"
A: "They are pointless. We have lamps already"
D: "People don't just buy them for light..."
A: " Candles are only good for two things: giving light so you can write the Declaration of Independence and sitting on top of a birthday cake. The declaration has already been written and it's not my birthday."

I went on to explain that I buy them for their good smell, but he wasn't having it :D
